The Cheddar Valley and Yatton Railway was a British railway company based in Somerset in south-west England.

The approval for the construction of the route from Yatton to Wells was issued July 14, 1864th Had first the Somerset and Dorset Railway construction law, this was on 19 June 1865, the Bristol and Exeter Railway transmitted. On August 3, 1869, the section from Yatton, on the main route from Bristol to Exeter, was opened to Cheddar and on April 5, 1870 to Wells. The line originally built in the broad gauge of 2140 mm was converted to standard gauge in 1875. The route was shut down by the Beeching ax in 1964 and is now a hiking and cycling route.

With the takeover of B&ER, the Cheddar Valley and Yatton Railway was also taken over by the Great Western Railway on August 1, 1876 .
