The chemicals sea transportation GmbH (CST) is a shipping company from Hamburg .

history

The company emerged from the engineering office Marine Service GmbH founded by Karl-Heinz Krämer in 1958, which among other things had designed chemical tankers with stainless steel tanks. In 1969, Karl-Heinz Krämer founded the Chemicals Seetransport company and began to build up a fleet of smaller tankers. In 1982 Peter Krämer became managing director. Christian Krämer joined the company in 2013 and took over the management of the shipping company in 2017 after the death of his father. In 2018, the Bremen-based tank shipping company Rigel Schiffahrt was taken over.

Structure and fleet

CST operates a fleet of 31 ships made up of product, chemical and gas tankers, most of which are operated in pools. In addition, bulk carriers are managed. According to its own information, the company employs over 1000 people at sea and 30 more on the various farms.
