Cherubino Busatti
Cherubino Busatti (also Busatus; * early 17th century; † before August 15, 1644 in Venice ) was an Italian composer and organist.
Busatti was a monk in the monastery of San Sebastiano in Venice and there since 1638 organist. He wrote a few short, strophic arias of a secular nature, most of which, however, have been lost. Most of the works that have been preserved are considered accessible and cultured. When Busatti's work Settimo libro d'ariette a voce sola appeared in 1644, he was already dead.
Busatti made a significant contribution to the consolidation of the accompanied monody in the sacred and secular music of the 17th century .
