Construction site of Chiapas at the season opening on March 23, 2013

Chiapas is a wild water slide in Phantasialand in Brühl , which was officially opened on April 1st, 2014. The full name is Chiapas - THE waterway . It replaces the stonewash and wildwash creek in the Mexico themed area , which were demolished in 2011, in the same place.

The opening originally planned for summer 2013 was made up for on March 30, 2014 in a pre-opening for trade visitors two days before the start of the season. The reasons given for the delay in the largely completed runway were the fine adjustment and calibration, which took longer than planned, and the harsh winter 2012/2013.

particularities

The journey takes place on five driving levels. The water slide has the steepest descent of a wild water slide with a 53 degree incline. Chiapas has three runs, one of which is shot backwards.

New for the 2014/15 winter season is Tiempo de Fuego , a show with fire effects and panoramic projections that cover the entire Chiapas front.

The soundtrack, produced exclusively for Chiapas, was written by Andreas and Sebastian Kübler from the Paderborn music production studio IMAscore and recorded with the 65-strong Budapest film orchestra.

For the winter dream 2014/15, the soundtrack by IMAscore has been revised with Christmas sounds.
