Chiari Frommel Syndrome

In the Chiari-Frommel syndrome or Laktationsatrophie is a hormonal disorder after birth. Due to increased prolactin production, milk flow ( galactorrhea ) remains for months or years even after the breastfeeding phase . At the same time, there is secondary amenorrhea and atrophy of the uterus ( uterine atrophy ).

The syndrome is named after the gynecologists Johann Baptist Chiari (1817–1854) and Richard Frommel (1854–1912).
