The Chicago Bruisers are an arena football team from Chicago, Illinois that played in the  Arena Football League  (AFL). The Bruisers played their home games at the Rosemont Horizon .

history

The Bruisers were founded in 1987, making them one of the four teams that completed the very first AFL season. After three seasons and two playoffs, the franchise was dissolved in 1989.

In their debut season, the average age of the team was just 25 years. With their young squad, the Bruisers still had the opportunity to move into the Arena Bowl finals on the last day of the game , but lost the decisive game against the Denver Dynamite .

In 1988 the Bruisers became the first of the AFL and moved into the ArenaBowl after beating the Los Angeles Cobras in the semi-finals . However, this was lost to Detroit Drive at 13:24 .
