The Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) performs the role of knowledge manager at board level. Especially in companies whose core business can be characterized by knowledge-based solutions or services, the task of the CKO is to establish and promote a culture of knowledge exchange in the sense of knowledge management . To this end, the CKO develops concepts and strategies on how “company knowledge” can be increased by allowing individual employees to externalize their knowledge as much as possible.
