China Traded Index

China Traded Index (abbreviated to CNX ) is a share index of the most important companies traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, calculated in real time by the Vienna Stock Exchange in cooperation with the Shanghai Stock Exchange . The index was designed as a tradable index and its calculation as a legally protected service .

It is a capitalization-weighted price index , which currently contains 32 Chinese shares of category A traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and which received a starting value of 1,000 points on January 3, 2005. Since December 5, 2005, the CNX has been calculated in the currencies Euro , US Dollar and Renminbi Yuan . Dividend payments are not taken into account.

In order to better represent the overall market, the maximum weighting of a single stock corporation is limited to 20 percent.
