Surgical Exploration

A surgical exploration means to investigate there is evidence of (sufficiently severe) disease emergency basis the suspected area directly, by passing it through skin incision and dissection to expose the covering layers and thereby directly by inspection (View) or palpation (touching) is examined. The term thus contradicts the other meaning of the word exploration in medicine.
