Chongwu ( Chinese  崇武 镇 , Pinyin Chóngwǔ Zhèn  - " appreciation of weapons") is a large community on the Chongwu peninsula of the same name in Hui'an County in the northeast of the Chinese city ​​of Quanzhou in Fujian Province . The place was founded in 1387 to repel attacks by Japanese pirates. The granite city ​​wall is 2,455 meters long, seven meters high and has 1,304 loopholes and four gates. It is the best preserved of the three Chinese stone-walled cities.

Granite processing is an important branch of industry in the community. Mainly temple figures and stone lamps are made.

The city ​​wall of Chongwu has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 1988 .
