Christian Ertel (lifeguard)

Christian Ertel (born September 18, 1990 in Stralsund ) is a German lifeguard with the DLRG and a member of the DOSB national team .

Career

Christian Ertel is a member of the DLRG-Stralsund and dedicated himself to lifeguarding there. He studied technical environmental protection at the TU Berlin and was able to continue his sport there, as the TU Berlin is a "central institution for university sports" and an Olympic base of the DOSB. In the course of his career he has won multiple German, European and world champions and holds several national records in individual and team disciplines.

Christian Ertel received the Silver Laurel Leaf twice for this achievement . The first time on October 23, 2013 by Federal President Joachim Gauck and on October 13, 2017 by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier .
