Christina Kauschke

Christina Kauschke (* 1964 in Dortmund ) is professor of clinical linguistics at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Career

Kauschke initially trained as a speech therapist at the speech therapy school at the Ulm University Hospital. This was followed by three years of professional experience at the Steglitz district office in Berlin in the language advice center of the child and adolescent psychiatry department. From 1990 to 1995 Kauschke worked as a freelance speech therapist.

Kauschke studied linguistics , German literature and psychology at the Free University of Berlin between 1988 and 1994 and graduated with a master's degree. In 1994 and 1995 she was a research assistant at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Potsdam in the field of “German as a Foreign Language”. From 1997 to 1998 she also completed a practical training course “External Supervision for Therapists and Supervisors”. Her dissertation on the subject of "Acquiring the Early Childhood Lexicon - An Empirical Study on the Development of Vocabulary in German", submitted in 1999 at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, was rated " summa cum laude ".

In preparation for her habilitation, Kauschke worked for four years as a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin in the Institute for German and Dutch Philology. In 2005, the linguist acquired the venia legendi with her habilitation thesis "Acquisition and processing of nouns and verbs - psycholinguistic and comparative language aspects" . In 2004 she received an appointment as junior professor for language acquisition disorders at the University of Potsdam. In 2007, she accepted a professorship at the Institute for German Linguistics at the Philipps University of Marburg.

Since April 2007, the professor has been leading the newly established Master’s course “Clinical Linguistics” at Marburg University.
