Chuchel is a comedy - adventure game of the Czech developer Amanita Design . It was released on March 7, 2018 for Windows and macOS . A version for iOS and Android followed on November 28, 2018. Chuchel won an Excellence in Visual Art and the award for “Best Game for Children”.

Game course and plot

As with the predecessors by Amanita Design , Chuchel is a point-and-click adventure . Using interactive images, the player has to try to solve differently difficult puzzles. It's about the orange creature Chuchel , who has a passion for cherries and tries again and again to get the most valuable cherry. His opponent is Kekel .

history

Chuchel was first released on March 7, 2018 for Windows and macOS . The version for iOS and Android was released on November 28, 2018.

On December 20, 2018, Amanita Design changed the color of Chuchel to orange with a black hat instead of a black body and an orange hat. Amanita Design reacted to some criticism from players, especially in the USA , who accused the company of racism . The black color of Chuchel as well as several other features made the character compatible with a clichéd depictions of blackface . The company apologized for the misunderstanding and changed the look of Chuchel and some levels to match the new design.

Prices

Chuchel received an “Excellence in Visual Art Award” from Independent Games Festival 2018 and was named “Best Game for Children” at Anifilm 2018. It also received awards for "Best Visual Art" and "Best Art" from CEEGA 2018 and BIG Festival 2018.
