Church of God in Christ ( Church of God in Christ ) is the largest Pentecostal denomination in the United States.

Origin and size

In its historical development, the Church of God in Christ is an African American Church of the Pentecostal movement . It has around 5 million members (as of 2007). Founder in 1907 was Charles Harrison Mason in Memphis , Tennessee . In 1914, the Pentecostal Church, Assemblies of God , split up in the United States.

Structure and organization

The headquarters of the Church is located in the Mason Temple in Memphis , Tennessee .

Senior bishop

The current Bishop in charge is Charles E. Blake .
