history

Ciöcc racing bikes

Ciöcc was founded in 1969 by Giovanni Pelizzoli as a small bicycle manufacturer near Bergamo in northern Italy. Pelizzoli worked as a mechanic for the GS ZONCA racing team of the Italian professional cyclist and later frame builder Gianni Motta since the early 1970s . In 1980 Pelizzoli sold the brand , renamed Ciöcc, to Conti in honor of his grandfather, who died at the same time . Since then the company name has been Nuova Cicli Conti & Ciöcc . The CIÖCC brand became the property of Stefano Bonati, Cesare Biondi and Biffi Giuseppe in 1991, who continued the brand in line with the Italian frame building tradition. Today the company also produces carbon frames in addition to the traditional steel frames that are still available . Ciöcc produces around 1500 frames per year, some of them in Italy, but all carbon monocoque frames are made in Asia.

After selling the Ciöcc brand, Pelizzoli continued to build racing bike frames in its own company.

Cycling

The Polish national cycling team, among others, rode Ciöcc bikes in the 1970s and 1980s. Claudio Corti won the 1977 World Cup in San Cristobal, Venezuela with a Ciöcc. Second place was also achieved on one of the brand's bikes at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow and another second place in the Warsaw-Prague-Berlin race. In the 1980s the professional teams SANTINI CONTI KRUPS, ITALBONIFICA NAVIGARE and others were equipped with Ciöcc bicycles.
