Circus Restaurant GO

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Circus Restaurant GO is a Swiss circus run by the Dominik Gasser family based in Gelterkinden .

history

The Circus Gasser-Olympia emerged from one of the five great circus dynasties in Switzerland: the Gasser dynasty. Heinrich Gasser, born in 1880, delighted audiences all over Europe as an acrobat. His son Dominik Gasser performed as a tightrope walker and acrobat on the mast in the open air in the arena . The first tent was purchased in 1949 and since then people have been traveling under the name Circus Olympia. His son Dominik Gasser took over the company in 1974, which in turn was taken over by his son Dominik Gasser Jr., born in 1953, and is still managed today.

In 1990 the interior of the tent was redesigned into a restaurant, which offers food and drink for every performance. In 2009 the name Circus G asser- O lympia was changed to Circus Restaurant GO . The trip is from May to September, followed by the Christmas Circus from November to January. In summer, around 40 cities across Switzerland are visited, in winter the traditional Christmas circus takes place in Aesch BL and Solothurn . The program is strongly based on the classic circus with artists on the ground and in the air, clowns and small animal acts. When there is no tour, the tents and wagons are in Lausen BL .

structure

4-masted chapiteaus with 500 or 800 seats, furnished with individual chairs and tables, will be used on the tour . For larger events there are 6-mast and 8-mast Chapiteaus with a capacity of up to 2000 people. Circus GO employs around 45 people during the season.
