City Area Network

A City Area Network ( CAN ) is a telecommunications network that includes public roads. A CAN has an extension of up to 5 km. It is widely used to network multiple LANs .

A typical example is the networking of branches that are spread across a city.

The City Area Network is also known under the term Campus Area Network . Campus Area Network is used in universities.
