Clochán na Carraige
The Clochán Carraige na [ klɔxɑːn nə kaɾɪgʲə ] ( Irish for "stone cabin of the rock") is one of the Kraggewölbebauten dry stone counting Clochán ( English beehive hat ; Irish clocháin ). It is located on a terrace northwest of Port Mhuirbhigh on the Aran Island of Inishmore in County Galway , Ireland . The National Monument, which is oval on the outside and rectangular on the inside, is Ireland's best preserved stone hut.

The clochán is about 6.0 m long, 2.35 m wide and 2.7 m high. Two low, rectangular, opposite entrances lead into the interior, which is covered by a cantilever vault . A small window in the southwest provides light. The clochán may not date back to the 17th or 18th century, while the beehive huts in Ireland are 1000 years or more older.
