In the area of routing , CoDel (pronounced "koddle") stands for controlled delay . This is an algorithm for the network scheduler to avoid network congestion in order to cope with the problems caused by the so-called bufferbloat . It was developed by Kathleen Nichols and Van Jacobson and is included in the Linux kernel from version 3.5 , but was used by some projects, such as B. OpenWrt , also ported to older kernels.
