Cocktail chair

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A cocktail chair is a typical piece of seating furniture for the 1950s. It is an upholstered living room armchair with a half-height, full-length arm and backrest. In keeping with the fashion of the 1950s, the armchair had delicate legs and the shape of the armchair was such that it “hugged” the back slightly at the sides, with the width of the back tapering towards the seat, creating a graceful, by no means bulky, overall impression.
