Code Monkeys is an American cartoon series created by Adam de la Peña . It plays in a fictional game development studio in the early 1980s.
The first episode was broadcast on the US TV station G4 on July 11, 2007. After two seasons, G4 announced in May 2009 that it would not add a third season to the series.
content
The plot of the series revolves around the development studio GameaVision and its eccentric collaborators, especially lazy Dave and his nervous buddy Jerry. The entire series takes place in Sunnyvale in the 1980s. Code Monkey's humor is based on crude sayings and stoner jokes as well as numerous allusions to computer games of the past and present, and above all games of the 8-bit era . These also extend to cameo appearances by game developers from well-known video games who present ideas for their later famous games at GameaVision and are usually rejected, insulted and sometimes injured or killed.
Epsiod structure
Each episode is designed like an 8-bit video game. For this purpose, figures, backgrounds and other objects are displayed with an 8-bit color palette, which occasionally leads to problems with more complex objects. Most episodes begin with a black screen that lights up with the text “PLAYER 1 START!” And also ends with a black screen that says “Game Over”. Within the episodes there are various status bars at the top and bottom of the screen, which show the points scored, health, emotions, comments or pictures. The show is completely computer animated with the exception of the credits.
