The Codex Vallardi is an anthology with drawings by Antonio Pisanello . It is located in the Louvre , Paris (Cabinet des Dessins).

“One of the treasures of the Louvre is the so-called Codex Vallardi, an anthology with drawings by Pisanello. Pisanello was the most famous court artist in Italy in the first half of the XV. Century. He lived a long time (only died in 1455), but his art began in the 14th century. That code contains the most varied studies of nature - and this is what is new (Plate 25). In the past, the artists combined the shapes of the workshop in their sketchbooks. Now the painter draws people, animals and plants from nature in order to be able to enrich his pictures with these studies. "
