The Colenta Transporter is a bus similar to the well-known small Suzuki Super Carry . It was built as a two-seater bus with a closed loading area, as a four- or five-seater bus and as a transporter with a flatbed. The specified maximum speed is 65 km / h.
There are two versions based on bodies made by CMC ( China Motor Corporation ), the models of which are licensed replicas from Mitsubishi . The smaller one is based on the Minicab / L100 (?), The larger one on the Mitsubishi Varica . The second body variant is still used on the Indian Premier Sigma model.
Apparently a few hundred copies were converted into electric cars by the German company Colenta (Colenta Elektromobile GmbH) in the early 1990s . Only a few of these are still in operation. One problem is the procurement of spare parts, especially for the mechanical parts.
There are versions with 90 volts (15 × 6 V) and 96 volts (16 × 6 V). Areas of application were or are, for example, the North Sea islands ( e.g. Wangerooge ), feeder traffic to a holiday hotel, as coffin wagons in cemeteries ...
The Colentas are equipped very differently. There are some with internal electronic chargers, with external chargers, with battery management systems (Badicheq from Mentzer), etc.
