Colliers Wood is an underground station of the London Underground in the London Borough of Merton . It is located in the Travelcard tariff zone 3 at the intersection of Merton High Street and Christchurch Road. The name comes from a small forest a little further east that was cut down around 1870. In 2013, 5.79 million passengers used this station served by Northern Line trains.

The station opened on September 13, 1926 as part of the extension from Clapham Common to Morden . Designed by Charles Holden , the station is a symmetrical modernist- style building made of Portland stone . It comprises a high counter hall with three entrances, which is flanked on both sides by single-storey shop wings. The building has been a listed building ( Grade II ) since 1987 .

Opposite the station building is the Colliers Wood Tower .
