Collocyte

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Collozyten (from ancient Greek κόλλα kolla "glue" and κύτος kytos "shell skin"; synonym colloblast , βλαστός blastos "seed, sprout") are reformed as Klebzellen epidermal cells at the ctenophores . They are located on the secondary threads (tentillia) of the two tentacles .

construction

The mode of action corresponds to the cnidocytes of the cnidaria , however, the ctenophora do not have their own cnids, but at most kleptocnids , as in Haeckelia rubra . The glue cells of the Ctenophora are not homologous to the stinging cells of the Cnidaria.
