Commission per available room

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Commission per available room ( ComPar ) is a key figure from the hotel management area that shows the commission amount in relation to the available room nights.

It is a supplement to the established RevPar (Revenue per available room) and serves as an indication of the self-distribution strength of a hotel or accommodation facility. If you subtract the ComPar from the RevPar, you get the "NetRevPAR", which is a form of the RevPar adjusted for the commission amounts. If a hotel increases the share of its own sales or the share of bookings via sales channels with little commission, the ComPar would decrease and the NetRevPar would increase. If a hotel sells more and more through intermediaries who charge commissions , the ComPar increases and the NetRevPar decreases.
