Compañía Española de Petróleos ( Cepsa ) is a Spanish company with headquarters in Madrid . The company operates in the oil industry.

history

The company was founded in 1929. Ten years later, Juan March controlled 75% of Compañía Española de Petróleos SA (Cepsa), which operated the most productive Spanish oil refinery on Santa Cruz de Tenerife . There crude oil from the United States, Venezuela and Romania was refined. At that time, Cepsa had a monopoly of oil sales in the Canary Islands, Spanish Morocco and re-exports to Campsa .
