The Compagnie Transe Express Circus is a group of French artists and technicians who stage street art and heavenly art, theater over the city.

The group was founded in 1982 by Brigitte Burdin, dancer and choreographer, and Gilles Rhode, sculptor and plastic artist. After 30 years of existence, the Compagnie Transe Express had developed into a company with 160 artists and technicians by 2012.

They have already played on 5 continents in 56 countries in 2,450 productions in front of more than 8 million viewers. The opening of the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , through which the Compagnie Transe Express was known to around 3 billion television viewers, should be mentioned as a special event .

Transe Express opened the Weimar Art Festival on August 17, 2018 with the play "Mù - Cinématique des fluides". Despite the previous strong winds and rain showers, the spectacle was able to start around an hour late after some clean-up work.
