A comparsa at the Spanish festivals

Comparsa are groups of dancers and musicians at the Spanish festivals and in the Cuban carnival, as well as sometimes the pieces of music of these groups themselves.

Cuba

In addition to typical instruments of Cuban music ( congas , clave , bell, maracas ), the comparsa uses the bombo (low drum) and a shawm of Chinese origin, called corneta (rarely also: trompeta) china .

A traditional example of this music is the "Comparsa Conga Habanera".

Spain

The comparsas or bandas of the Spanish festival are particularly characterized by their elaborate costumes.
