Con-Hon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Con-Hon or ConHon is a common term for small books with blank pages among Manga and Anime fans as well as followers of the visual kei scene. Similar to poetry albums , these are passed around among friends or at anime conventions with the request to draw in small pictures, mostly in the manga style , or to write sayings and greetings.

In the German-speaking manga, anime and visual kei fan scene in particular, con-hons have become increasingly popular since the turn of the millennium and often serve as an identification of social identity and as an object of prestige.

Origin of terms and delimitation

The term "Con-Hon" is an artificial word from the abbreviation of the English word "Convention" ( event, meeting ) and the Japanese word "Hon" (本, book ). In Japan, the origin of the manga, anime and visual kei fan movement, con-hons are not common.

The official guest books, which are often displayed at events, are usually referred to as "Con-books" to distinguish them from Con-Hons.
