Conflict of laws (England and Wales)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the law of England and Wales , Conflict of Laws or Private International Law refers to a field of law that deals with the problems of private law cases with foreign affairs. A distinction is made between three problem areas: the jurisdiction of English courts, the applicable law and the recognition of foreign decisions. A foreign legal system is any legal system that does not belong to the legal system of England and Wales, even if it belongs to the United Kingdom in the sense of international law, including Scotland and Northern Ireland .
