Cool or Crash was a traffic (quiz) show for children that was broadcast from 1998 to 2007 and produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk . The program was mostly broadcast in connection with Pumuckl TV .

variants

There were two versions of the program, on the one hand the game show (1998–2002) and on the other hand a version that consisted only of traffic tips. (2006-2007).

Game show

Moderated by Jürgen Blaschke (later Beni Weber), two school classes competed against each other in the game show in order to raise a sum of 1000 euros for their class budget. The losing team also won a cash grant of 500 euros. From 2004 co-presenter Berit Socher joined them.

The game consisted of three rounds in which the candidates had to deal with the following tasks.

  • 1st round: Questions are asked and pictures are shown that have traffic on the topic.
  • 2nd round: Moderator Beni Weber describes a traffic sign that the players have to fetch from a sign wall as quickly as possible.
  • 3rd round: With the moderator Berit Sochor the pupils have to ride a bicycle course (from 2004).

Traffic tips

During the traffic tips, presenter Singa Gätgens explained traffic signs and the correct behavior of children in traffic. A DVD was published for the broadcast in 2006 on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport, 150,000 copies were distributed to schools.
