Copy test (advertising practice)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A copy test is a recruitment test that advertising agencies use to check the suitability of junior employees - especially copywriters .

Since there are many career changers in this area without their own work samples, large advertising agencies in particular use copy tests for pre-selection before a personal job interview. In the test, the applicant has to work on several realistic tasks from advertising practice, mostly in written form. In addition to creativity, the copy test is often used to determine compatibility, for example with regard to the style of the company.

The term copy test comes from the term copy for the continuous text after the headline of an advertisement.
