Coral Bracho (* 1951 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican poet and translator.

Life

Coral Bracho studied language and literature and teaches at the National University of Mexico. Her lyrical work, which is assigned to the neo-baroque poetry of Latin America, is considered important in Mexican poetry. She was awarded the “Premio Nacional de Poesía de Aguascalientes” for her second volume of poetry El ser que va a morir (“The being that will die”) and for the collection Ese espacio, ese jardín (“This room, this garden”) awarded the “Premio Xavier Villaurrutia”. She is a member of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte cultural foundation and was the holder of a Guggenheim grant .
