Corona pretreatment

The corona treatment is used to enhance the adhesion of paints and coatings to polyolefins such as polypropylene and polyethylene to enable it to ensure respectively in the first place.

During the corona pretreatment, the surface to be treated is exposed to an electrical corona discharge for a short time . Polar molecules develop on the surface , to which, for example, printing ink, varnish or adhesives can bind.
