The Corpus Christi hydropower plant is a binational hydropower plant and dam project in Argentina ( Misiones Province ) and Paraguay ( Itapúa Department ) on the Paraná River .
The hydropower plant is to be designed for an output of 3000 megawatts . Other sources speak of 2700 or 4600 MW. The electricity is to be sent to Brazil . The estimated construction cost is $ 4 billion. The flood relief should have a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per second in order to be able to divert the enormous amounts of water from the Paraná during floods.
