Cost per action

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term cost per action (also known as pay per action or PPA ), abbreviated to CPA , comes from the field of online marketing and describes a specific cost model. Advertising is usually carried out on the websites through advertising banners or text links. The advertiser pays for different actions related to this banner or link. In the case of cost per action, the advertiser incurs costs if the users of the website carry out certain actions after they have clicked on the banner. The CPA's costs for this type of advertising are directly related to the actions and reactions of the users. With this cost model, it is not sufficient for the user to click on the banner or the link. The advertiser only incurs costs if the user carries out actions that go beyond simply clicking on the banner. Such a further action can be, for example, ordering a newsletter. This cost model is also used very often in the area of participation in competitions or when requesting documents and information material on various products and services. In contrast to the CPC, the costs per click , the customer only pays if the banner has been clicked and then another action by the user in the desired form has taken place. This cost model is used very often in many areas of online marketing.
