Costa (Peru)
The Costa is the lowlands of Peru on the Pacific . Due to the cold buoyancy of the Humboldt Current , there is hardly any precipitation. The annual average temperatures are 18 degrees and thus lower than in other tropical deserts . The humidity is high and there is often fog. Irrigation farming is possible in the valleys . In addition to cotton , sugar cane is also grown there . 50% of agricultural production is cultivated on 0.8 million hectares of arable land. There is a high degree of urbanization and a high population density. Costa's share of industrial production in Peru is 80%.
