Coupe (fencing)

In fencing, a coupé is an attack or defensive thrust that is passed over the tip of the opponent's weapon . The movement may only take place from the wrist, as withdrawing the right of attack would be lost. The blade is raised quickly and the thrust is passed over the opponent's blade.
