Crystal Tools (original name: White Engine ) is a game engine from Square Enix for the seventh generation of consoles and Windows. It is used, among other things, for the Final Fantasy series. Take advantage of the first games that Crystal Tools are Final Fantasy XIII , Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII , and for the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV and Dragon Quest X . Tetsuya Nomura said the "leap" from PS2 to PS3 was bigger than that from PS1 to PS2, which is why they developed the White Engine, later renamed Crystal Tools.
Crystal Tools is implemented on the PlayStation 3 , Xbox 360 , Wii and Windows .
