Cueva del Milodón

The Cueva del Milodón is a 200 m long cave in Chile . It was named after the prehistoric Mylodon ( giant sloth ) that was found in this cave in 1895 by the German adventurer Hermann Eberhard . At the entrance to the cave there is a monument showing a mylodon in its original size. The cave is located 24 km northwest of the city of Puerto Natales in the Región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena (Region XII).

The cave is classified as a Chilean National Monument (Monumentos Nacionales de Chile).
