Cuneus
The term Cuneus (from Latin wedge ) means:
- part of the fore wing of bedbugs, see Hemielytre
- part of the occipital lobe in the brain
- Ray of the horse's hoof
- in the ancient:
- the stretch of coast between Cape Sacrum (today Cabo de São Vicente) and the mouth of the Anas (today Rio Arade) on the Portuguese south coast, see Cuneus Ager
- a cape on this stretch of coast near Lagos (today Ponta de Piedade )
- a combat formation or a unit of the late Roman army, usually made up of barbaric mercenaries, see Cuneus (military)
