The CyberAngels are an organization that was founded in 1995 on the basis of the “ Guardian Angels ” citizens' initiative . It is based in Allentown , USA.

The CyberAngels originally emerged from a hacking community but evolved and today the organization consists of over 6,000 volunteers. These patrol as virtual security commands in virtual space. Four main parts of the Internet are regularly monitored: The multi-user communication system IRC , Usenet , the World Wide Web and the sites of the largest American Internet service provider, AOL . Their main goal is the fight against Internet pornography and cyberstalking.

The CyberAngels divide their mission into three main groups: through educational work they seek to prevent Internet users from becoming victims of Internet crime, they support victims in tracking down and identifying the perpetrators so that they can be prosecuted, and they publish information and innovations on the subject of Internet crime, to make the public aware of the potential danger.

The organization is financed through donations and sponsorship contributions.
