history

In 1984 “Pfleiderer and Partner Ing. GmbH” was founded. In 1991 it changed its name to "PP-Com Telecommunications + Networking GmbH". In 1998 she received the Byte Award '98 for the unified messaging server "mrs". In 1999 the company was transformed into "CYCOS Aktiengesellschaft". A year later, cycos took over "Dolphin Communication Technologies GmbH" and "Maier Bürokommunikationssysteme GmbH", and in 2000 cycos went public. In 2003 the company was taken over by Siemens AG as the majority shareholder.

In 2006 cycos mrs received the Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Differentiation Innovation in the Unified Messaging and Communications market; also in 2006 cycos presented a prototype of the world's first communications suite for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 at CeBIT.

In 2008, cycos launched the mrs Vanguard product, which at the time was the most comprehensive software suite for unified communications on the market. According to a study by the market research company MZA, which specializes in the IT and telecommunications industry, cycos AG was the market leader in Western Europe for unified messaging solutions at that time (study: The Western European UC Applications Market Competitive Environment - 2008 Edition).

At the end of 2009, cycos AG handed over sales to the former parent company Siemens Enterprise GmbH & Co. KG (today Unify GmbH & Co. KG ). Two years later, the phasing out of the product "mrs" was initiated in order to position itself as a service company in the future. In the same year cycos AG was appointed the Center of Competence for today's Unify GmbH & Co. KG and has since focused mainly on services for the Unify Group.

By resolution of the general meeting on May 13, 2011, the company changed its name to "cycos AG".

The in-house product "mrs" reached the end of life in October 2012 and the end of service in October 2014.

In January 2015, the company's listing ended on its own application.

In spring 2016, Atos SE bought the Unify group. As a result, cycos AG has been part of the Atos Group ever since.

Former product

Before cycos AG restructured itself from a product developer to a service company, the core product was the unified communications software suite mrs Vanguard (mrs = multimedia routing software). This suite simplifies communication channels and enables web-based mobile message management.
