history

The Día de Canarias is celebrated as a public holiday on May 30th every year in the Canary Islands. He recalls the first session of the Canary Islands Parliament on May 30, 1983, chaired by Pedro Guerra Cabrera , the first President of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. As early as the second Spanish republic, people in the Canary Islands tried to achieve this status, but the 46-year-old Franco dictatorship made this impossible. It was not until August 10, 1982 that the Spanish parliament in Madrid made the decision that the islands should be given autonomous status.
