DFB sports court

The DFB Sports Court is the highest control body in the German Football Association . The court can impose sanctions against associations that are spread over a wide spectrum. It is responsible for internal “criminal proceedings” which result in sanctions against clubs or players in the higher leagues. Appeals against the judgment of the court can be lodged with the DFB Federal Court or a new hearing can be requested before the sports court. The sports court is headed by Hans Eberhard Lorenz .

history

The DFB Sports Court was founded in 1963 together with the Bundesliga and has since provided a space for negotiations due to misconduct by individual players, clubs or spectators. The DFB sports court is responsible for the national and regional leagues. The DFB sports court is its own instance. The judges and employees have always worked on a voluntary basis.

structure

The structure is similar to that of a normal dish. There is a judge, defense counsel and a control committee. The presiding judge's office is currently held by Hans E. Lorenz.

Procedure

The DFB sports court meets if a player etc. has behaved incorrectly. This begins as soon as the referee receives a red card . The sports court determines the penalty depending on the severity of the foul or the unsportsmanlike nature, and after acceptance by both clubs involved, a written judgment is drawn up. Only about 20% of all judgments are heard orally. A judgment by the DFB Sports Court can only be overturned by the DFB Federal Court. The judgment of the Federal Supreme Court, in turn, may May be reviewed by the Permanent Court of Arbitration .
