The DIN standard DIN 5035 lighting with artificial light is a series of DIN standards that deals with the requirements for artificial lighting in various areas.

The series of standards is currently being gradually replaced by European standards such as EN 12464 .

Brief contents of valid parts

DIN 5035-3

Part 3 of the Lighting in Healthcare Standard specifies the requirements for lighting in all rooms in the healthcare system, i.e. not just in medical treatment rooms but in all rooms in which patients are present.

DIN 5035-6

Part 6, Measurement and Evaluation, contains the requirements for measuring devices for photometric quantities, defines the measurements and describes their evaluation. The norm will u. a. required for the examination and evaluation of lighting systems with regard to compliance with minimum requirements.

DIN 5035-7

Part 7 Illumination of rooms with VDU workstations defines photometric requirements for the lighting of rooms with VDU workstations. The arrangement of the workplaces and screens is also defined.

DIN 5035-8

Part 8 workplace lights - requirements, recommendations and testing defines minimum requirements for the lighting of workplaces. It describes the lighting requirements (e.g. illuminance, uniformity, glare, light color) for individual workplace lighting as a supplement to the general lighting of the workplace.
