The DIN standard DIN 69909 describes multi-project management . It deals with the management of project portfolios, programs and projects and describes the associated terms and processes.

Content

The standard is divided into four parts.

In the first part (DIN 69909-01) the most important terms of multi- project management are explained and the goals, the model character and the characteristics of multi-project management as well as the expectations are described.

In the second part (DIN 69909-02), the processes of multi-project management, the structure of the process model and the interactions with the processes, as described in DIN 69901-02.

The third part (DIN 69909-03) deals with the methods of multi-project management. Among other things, analyzing dependencies between projects, managing benefits, managing synergies in multi-project management, risk management and resource management are defined.

In the fourth part (DIN 69909-04) the roles in multi-project management and a role model are defined. Among other things, definitions for committees in multi-project management, the role of sponsor, the role of expert, the role of implementation manager and (MPM) process manager can be found. In addition, there is a systematic representation of the roles in tasks, competencies and responsibility (AKV).
