ISO -

The European standard EN 10204 in its 2004 edition, like its predecessor standard EN 10204: 1995, defines the various types of test certificates that can be made available to the customer for the delivery of metallic products in accordance with the agreements made when ordering.

The German version of the standard , DIN EN 10204 , Metallic Products - Types of Test Certificates (2004), was published on January 2005 .

history

Compared to the previous standard, the works test certificate 2.3 and versions A and C of the acceptance test certificates 3.1 are completely omitted. The acceptance by the previous official buyer (formerly 3.1 A) or the free acceptance by an expert appointed by the customer (formerly 3.1 C) can be covered by the inspection certificate 3.2. The current acceptance test certificate 3.1 corresponds to the previous acceptance test certificate 3.1 B. This means that test certificates must be confirmed by the manufacturer or by the manufacturer and the independent acceptance officer. Dealers are only allowed to pass on originals or copies of the test certificates without changing the condition - apart from adjustments to the quantities. A process to ensure traceability must be applied to copies.

Types of inspection certificates

# Type of test certificate Content of the certificate Confirmation of the certificate by
2.1 Factory certificate Confirmation of compliance with his order the manufacturer
2.2 Factory certificate Confirmation of compliance with its order, stating the results of non-specific testing the manufacturer
3.1 Inspection certificate 3.1 Confirmation of compliance with the order stating the results of specific testing the manufacturer's inspection representative, who is independent of the production department
3.2 Acceptance test certificate 3.2 Confirmation of compliance with the order stating the results of specific testing the manufacturer's acceptance officer who is independent of the production department and the acceptance officer commissioned by the customer or the acceptance officer named in the official regulations

application

designation

Test certificates for orders should be clearly stated in the request, e.g. B .:

  • Factory certificate 2.2 according to EN 10204: 2004
  • Inspection certificate 3.1 according to EN 10204: 2004

DIN EN 10204 requires the observance of numerous other applicable standards and must always be seen in the context of the ordering regulations for metallic products.

Electronic transmission

EN 10204: 2004 explicitly allows the storage and forwarding of test certificates electronically, completely dispensing with the post. This enables test certificates to be sent more quickly and makes electronic archiving easier .
