The DPRK Amateur Golf Open is a golf tournament in North Korea , in which only amateurs are allowed to participate. It is the only golf competition in the country.

history

The tournament was first held in 2011 and always takes place at the Pyongyang Golf Complex near Pyongyang . In 2004 Koryo Tours invited to a Pyongyang Friendship Golf Tournament . In January 2011 the British travel company Lupine Travel also held a tournament. The tournament first took place in April 2011 and was played in the Callaway format. Since 2012 it has taken place over several days. In 2013 it was held from May 25th to 27th, and in 2014 from July 27th to 28th.

In 2015 it took place from September 7th to 8th, 2015.
